I got an email today from our wonderful publicist Jenna Rosen from Razor & Tie with a roundup of a bunch of reviews for the new album. They’re all pretty favorable, which is of course really cool to hear.
One of the things I really enjoyed about a lot of them is that they actually get it - they seem to understand our intentions. We know we’re not anything new. We’re not out to reinvent the genre. We aren’t pretending we’re something we’re not. We just write good music. From the beginning of the writing process, this was my exact intent. Here are some excerpts:
MetalSucks.net: “It’s not the freshest thing in the world, but it’s done well and it’s a good listen.”
Sputnik Music: “Ultimately, I Declare War is a polished, solid and deserved score of deathcore that will render break down lovers paralyzed in aggression. More exciting, technical, and heavier than their former work Malevolence, I Declare War will turn heads and get the attention they have been deserving since 2007.”
Audiopinions.net: “I Declare War have given us a highly enjoyable above average album that showcases some more of their potential. With this release, there should be renewed hope that the band can make exciting and great music.”
